&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;We are about to be entering the time of year that "dieters"dread, the holiday season.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; A "diet"  nightmare.  Or is it?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;   &lt;div&gt;When at parties, I see people filling their plates, pushing in line,  and going back  over and over again. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What do I do?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I take little bits to taste then I go back and have a  small portion of what I liked. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So what do I usually end up with?  Chicken brochette,  lots of little veggies, some spicy, some in vinaigrette.  I pass the potatoes  and fried food, why regret it later!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; When the dessert comes to the table I might take  1 small dessert, take bite and put it down. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I might be curious but not willing  to add unnecessary calories besides I know there is another dinner or celebration around the corner.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I remember one particular day back in May when I was into my 3rd FBBP 6- Weeks to your Best Body workshops and we celebrated my sister-in-laws birthday. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Rick's Mom made an amazing lasagna (which I had a piece about 2"x2"); his brother makes the BEST Caesar salad, I had a helping,  I made a chocolate cake (told I make the best) I had a small triangle; and Rick's Mom made an Orange Chiffon cake topped with whipping cream and assorted berries (I had a sliver)&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;For me that was an unusual day.  But we have to be able to live and  not feel constantly deprived.  So what is the moral of this  email?&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;It is o.k. to indulge once in a while.  That's not how people gain weight. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is  falling back into old habits and behavior. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you have a busy holiday season then you will have to make choices, obviously you cannot party night after night, eat, drink and not expect the weight to creep on.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I do want you to understand that when you are on my program you are losing fat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No muscle or water,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fat is stubborn and when in comes off, WOW.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So do you really want to eat an extra dessert or helping of food, and sabotage all that hard work? That is why it is important to be conscious.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What are you eating/drinking?  How much have you already had? When is the next party?  Weigh your options (lol) and choose wisely.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The fat comes on easy, you have to work hard to get it off!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So enjoy once in  while, but get back the next day, eat well, less carbs and  exercise.&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;Going to do cardio now! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Below is a great recipe idea for supper  tonight. Combine sour cream, dill, lemon  pepper, and lemon zest in a small bowl. Spray a medium casserole dish with  non-stick cooking spray. Spread 1/4 of the lemon dill sauce over the bottom of  pan. Arrange chicken breasts on top of sauce in a single layer. Pour remaining  sauce over chicken. Spread evenly. Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes, until  chicken is tender and no longer pink. You do have to watch the fat, It does not give you the nutritional breakdown.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I will be sending you recipes already modified!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Remember to get out there, walk the dog, the kids your spouse! We take care and have patience with everyone, family, co-workers, friends but what about ourselves? Why do we come last?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The most important thing to remember is that everyday we have the opportunity to start again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here is a hearty and delicious recipe for the whole family:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mom"s Stuffed Chicken&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ingredients:&lt;br /&gt;1 whole chicken&lt;br /&gt;2 tbsp Olive oil&lt;br /&gt;1 tsp salt&lt;br /&gt;1 tsp pepper&lt;br /&gt;3 large carrots&lt;br /&gt;8 shallots&lt;br /&gt;4 medium-sized celery stalks&lt;br /&gt;15 fresh sage leaves (no sage use basil)&lt;br /&gt;10 sprigs fresh thyme&lt;br /&gt;1/2c chopped walnuts&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Preheat oven to 350.  Grease a baking dish.&lt;br /&gt;Place the chicken in the baking dish.  Pierce the chicken with a fork and rub with olive oil, salt, pepper.  Set aside.&lt;br /&gt;Peel the carrots.  Cut the carrots, shallots and celery into small round slices&lt;br /&gt;Mix these in a bowl with the sage, thyme and walnuts&lt;br /&gt;Place the mixture inside the cavity of the chicken and scatter it around the dish. The leaves are changing, it is a crisp fall day and the sun is shining.  I happen to love the fall, it's what follows that is not my fav!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As I watch my dogs sunning on the porch I realize that I am very fortunate.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have my health, a great husband, amazing kids, the cutest dogs, a lovely home , great family and friends and a successful business. Wow!  &lt;/span&gt;The after pictures were  taken just this past weekend.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;It is not  so much the weight loss but the inches also.&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span class="EmailStyle24"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;color:#993366;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;I had a great time shopping last week-end and not just for shoes.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;My co-workers have noticed that my old  clothes are hanging at the butt and my new clothes are hugging the right  places.&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span class="EmailStyle24"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;color:#993366;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;I will not say it is easy  because it is not. &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;There are days when I  just want to sit on the couch and not move a muscle but I get myself up and do  my exercises.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;The days I am at the gym,  it may sound funny, but I play games with myself. &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;If I am on the treadmill and there is another  person beside me also running – in my head I compete with that person.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;I motivate myself to surpass that person and  see how much longer I can go.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;It may  sound weird but for me it works.  &lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span class="EmailStyle24"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;color:#993366;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;/span&gt;I have  also had to train myself to eat 3 meals plus the snacks.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;At first it was difficult because I was used  to skipping breakfast and really not having much of anything else healthy.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;It has now become a way of life and I  actually look forward to eating breakfast. &lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span class="EmailStyle24"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;color:#993366;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;I wish the weight would come off faster but I  know slow and steady wins the race….so I keep going.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;My main goal was hopefully to be able to get  off my meds for diabetes and so for the last 3 wks my bloods have been way  down.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;My 2&lt;sup&gt;nd&lt;/sup&gt; goal was to be  able to look at myself in the mirror and not here my mother’s voice telling me  I’m fat.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;I’m not there yet but when I  look at myself in the mirror now… I see the beginning of what WILL be.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;I see some abs starting to form and my pot  disappearing.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;I’m learning to like what  I see so that is a major step up.&lt;span style=""&gt;   &lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; type='text'>Strip off the Fat</title><content type='html'>Losing weight is not difficult, burning fat is a different story.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you exercise daily and think that you can eat whatever you want, then you are very mistaken.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You may get "firmer" and put on lean body mass, but you will not burn fat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Combining proper nutrition with high intensity exercise is the answer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You do not have to workout for hours, you can achieve your goals with only 30 minutes of exercise 6 days a week!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is just as important &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;when &lt;/span&gt;you eat not only &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;what &lt;/span&gt;you eat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The old saying "You are what you eat" is very true!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Think about lean protein, fibrous fruits and veggies&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;then think about Danish, cookies, chips, pizza.....&lt;br me a different side of my business and I am ready to roll!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was chatting with some ladies Saturday night and made a statement that was quite profound, they all wrote it down  I said&lt;br /&gt;"If you don't take control of your life, your life will control you".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It was a moment!  But so true.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We cannot hope to make any changes in our lives if we do not know who we are and what we want. Certainly gives food for thought.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Are you doing what you want to be doing? Sure they also wanted  to improve their fitness level, be more toned, more flexible  and build muscle but usually they would grab their “area” of discontent and exclaim “help me?!”.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;The problem does not lay with these people looking for help, it lays in the way we have been instructed on how to lose weight.  Let’s explore the concept of fat loss.  Many people believe  that in order to burn fat follow the “LSD (long slow distance)” theory. Did you know we burn fat as a fuel source all day, all the time?  We also burn sugar all day all the time, too.   Long slow distance, means keeping your heart rate at 65-75% of your maximum heart rate and doing cardio at a consistent rate for a minimum of 20 minutes. If you work at 85-95% of you maximum heart rate (MHR) then you are using more sugar as an energy source than you are fat – BUT you’ll burn more calories.    &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt; If you do 30 minutes of cardio at 65-75% of your maximum heart rate, you will probably burn around 225 calories, if you work at 85-95% you will burn approximately 400 calories ( this number will depend on your weight and how strong your metabolism is).  When you are finished your exercise regime, the body experiences post exercises oxygen consumption which  is required to help rebuild your energy systems in your body and this process consumes even more calories post workout.  The higher the need to rebuild the body’s energy system the higher your metabolism. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;Participants of the Fit Body by Phyl workshops have dropped 14.5lbs and lose 11.75 inches in under 5 weeks by following an exercise &amp;amp; nutritional program working out 30 minutes a day!  Not an hour! If your goal is to burn fat perhaps  re-think your training. Consider keep the intensity high (with doctor’s approval), perform exercises that use the big muscles groups for example, squats, lunges, deadlifts.  Resistance bands on the ankles add intensity without overloading the joints.  You can have an amazing full body workout in 30 minutes and GET results! Try interval training on your treadmill or elliptical trainer or even when you walk.  If you are doing 30 minutes, try changing your pace every minute, switching between a recovery pace and a more intense pace.  Be sure to have a 3 minute warm up and cool down period. Get in, get out, get results!&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;Now for  nutrition.  When the scale fluctuates you are losing weight but not always FAT. By cutting sodium out of your diet for a couple of days, water would flush out your system and that can easily attribute to weight loss, but when you go back to your regular diet the weight comes back on. It's not rocket science but often, that's what is going on when you experience those weight fluctuations &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;Fat is much more stubborn that that.  If you want to watch the fat melt off your body you need to be eating the correct nutrients at the correct times. If you rotate your carb intake in just the right way you start to blast FAT off your body.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you want to fit into your skinny jeans or rock in a bathing suit, you're going to need to work for it. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10;"&gt;That’s the skinny on fat in a nutshell!
